Let's get critical (but in a nice way)

Yikes! This feels almost like high school all over again! When I first saw this post over at My Repurposed Life, I thought "OMG, I couldn't handle having people critique my blog"! But seriously, I'm an adult now, I can take creative criticism, right? Right? Of course I can! I would love to know what people think about my little blog.

Sooooo...... I am taking the plunge and linking up to this blog hop from My Repurposed Life:

Gulp...

  3. Gayle -

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog on the blog hop! I LOVE YOUR BLOG. 1st, I love the cool fonts you use. 2nd, I love the colors you put your fonts in - they go perfectly with your theme. I love how the main part of your blog is white, but you keep the "frame" of the blog interesting with the houses. You take GREAT pictures! I can't wait to read more!

  4. gayle-first I love your NAME !! hahah
Your header is really cute, and the name of your blog is cool. I like the way your header matches your sides.
I suggest you move your followers up to better real estate. :)
I like that you have about me, right up top!
I highly recommend that you have your links open in a new window. (email me) You want to keep traffic on your page, not hunting for you using their back button.
while logged in to your page, use the wrench/screwdriver to edit any gagdet. I suggest ath you shorten your blog roll slightly. Your visitors can always "show all" to find the ones that haven't updated recently.
I'm so glad you joined in "our" blog hop, MeganDVD was a huge help putting this together. Thanks for adding the code to your page. I hope this turns out to be a real learning experience for you. (did you check out my post on sunday? blog tips) you should think about windows live writer, it will make blogging much more enjoyable.
It appears you do have your email attached to your blog so that you're NOT a no-reply blogger! kudos!
please jump around and help out some other bloggers, k?

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog :) I love your blog, all the color is so fun and stands out from most of the other blogs I follow. I particularly love your heading, I have been trying to figure out how to create a fun heading like that but I just havent quite figured it out yet. One thing I would love to see would be a home tour, maybe I am nosy but I absolutely love to get a glimpse into the home of my fellow home bloggers, but that is just my personal opinion, your blog looks great!

  6. Hello my dear....thank you so much for linking up to our little blog hop. Gail and I have loved doing this little hippity hop among so many cute blogs....yours is quite darling. I love the palette and the whimsy. You create such personality with your name, tag line, and header 's overall look. I am thrilled that you took a risk and jumped in. My gentle suggestion is to move up followers to right underneath you. Time is crucial in getting and keeping followers. In fact they decide in less than 1 minute if they will follow...so entice them even more by making it all right there for them to utilize. :) You also may want to be a tad more picky with your blog roll..it is YOUR place to showcase the ones you care about. Choose these people wisely. I plan to post about how to do a roll in my post-party post. I just firmly believe that real estate should be for friends and people committed to your blog. Your blog is priceless...make a person EARN that spot. Once again these are just gentle thoughts. I know that taking a risk and putting yourself out there is very scary, but you should feel so proud and empowered. I hope that you are not a no-reply when dealing with comments. I always love being able to respond to my bloggers. Also...if you need anything, Gail and I would love to help. Just let us know what we can do. :)

Have a great start to the week, and I hope this is the beginning of seeing more of you in the little blog world. :)

    Cheers~

  9. Hey, Gayle ~ coming over from the blog hop. Your blog header is so cute!! Love the colors and the fact that I can see whose blog i'm on. The categories section is always a positive for me.. thats where I like to look. I dont have anything to add,, very nice blog.

  10. I love the colors of your blog. Very dramatic, yet simple. The only thing I'd suggest is going to a 3-column layout instead of only 2-columns. The reason I say that is because you have a lot of stuff in your right column so the reader has to scroll down really far to see it all. Adding another column will bring everything closer to the top, including your followers (like Gail suggested).

Oh and thanks for your comments on my blog!
